A web scan, a social import and a removal request do not need the same information.
To analyse your social media
Facebook, Reddit and X are analysed from the archive you upload, within the supported categories. YouTube uses official Google permissions. We never receive your Google password.

Encrypted connections
Connections to the website use HTTPS/TLS to protect data in transit.
Controlled access
Access to data depends on account or service permissions. Environments are separated and technical secrets are managed on the server.
Encryption for specific stored data
Stored removal documents and YouTube connection tokens are encrypted on the server. This does not mean all data is end-to-end encrypted.
Password-free sign-in
A temporary code sent by email lets you sign in. Data Knight does not create or store a password for this sign-in method.
No online service can guarantee zero risk. If a data breach occurs, information and notification measures depend on the risk and applicable obligations.

Search criteria, identifiers to check, excerpts and metadata needed for analysis. Depending on the feature, Anthropic also receives organisations’ replies to classify, summarise or translate them.
Payments and communication
Stripe · SendGrid · Trustpilot
Stripe processes payments: Data Knight does not receive full payment card details. SendGrid sends emails, including requests and necessary attachments. Trustpilot may receive your email for a review invitation when this feature is enabled.
Retention depends on the data.
The 30-day limit concerns social data. It does not apply to all data in your account.
- Social archives and reportsUp to 30 days
- In the Knights flow, expiry is set when the inventory is prepared. Additional analyses do not extend it. Outside this flow, the limit is 30 days after analysis ends. Reusable AI results have their own expiry, no more than 30 days after they are produced.
- Account and web reportsWhile you use the service
- You can request deletion from My account. Inactive free accounts may be purged after advance notice, with exclusions for paid accounts or requests already sent.
- Authorisations and requestsFollow-up, then evidence if needed
- Data is kept during follow-up. Some evidence may then be archived with restricted access until the applicable limitation period expires.
- Invoices and accounting recordsUp to 10 years
- Where required by law. Contractual evidence may be retained for up to 5 years. Other retention rules, including logs and audience measurement, are detailed in the policy.

Account deletion removes operational data. Some information must be retained separately to meet a legal obligation or preserve necessary evidence.
